MY NAME, MY RIGHT

for the Cameroonian Association for Inter-Religious Dialogue, represented by the Reverend Pastor Achille Bertrand MIOUMNDE and Imam ABOUBAKAR SIDIKI, organized a workshop on birth registration procedures for religious dignitaries this November 24, 2025, in the function hall of the Djohong Council.

Invited to this training session were the Imams working in the localities hosting civil status centers, as well as the Reverend Pastor, Director of the Djohong Ecclesiastical District, and also Assistant to the Bishop of the Mbéré Ecclesiastical Region, Mr. Josias Gabriel ABBA, and Madam INNA Florence BOBO, representing the Mayor of the Djohong Council.

This training is part of the « Child-Friendly Councils » label, the agreement for which was signed last April between the Djohong Council and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF). The aim is therefore to equip these religious dignitaries with the necessary tools to maximize birth registration through the method: « My Baptism, My Birth Certificate, My Identity. »

The Djohong Council will supervise this commitment made by the religious leaders to reinforce this initiative and optimize birth registration through a competition, where the religious leader who has registered the most births will be awarded a prize by UNICEF. The birth registration registers will be distributed to them in the coming days.
